We’re building at ‘light speed’ in Fakenham
We’re delighted to be bringing our next generation 1 gigabit full fibre broadband to the market town of Fakenham in North Norfolk!
Our team recently marked the progress of our network build by meeting with Norfolk County Councillor and Cabinet Member for Innovation, Transformation and Performance, Tom Fitzpatrick, and Solutions Architect for Better Broadband for Norfolk, Steve Cunningham, at our build location in the town to see first-hand how we lay our network by installing underground boxes instead of using green street cabinets to minimise the impact on the local environment.
Fakenham is one of nine towns across Norfolk that we’re bringing the East of England’s fastest internet to including Attleborough, Cromer, Dereham, Downham Market, Hunstanton, King’s Lynn, Sheringham and Thetford.
Councillor Tom Fitzpatrick said: “I was really pleased to be able to meet with LightSpeed in Fakenham and see their engineers installing the fibre which will provide gigabit speed capability to homes and businesses in Fakenham and transform the way people can access the internet.
I welcome the fact that this service is also being installed in several market towns across the county, which really fits in with our aim that our smaller towns do not lag behind cities such as Norwich. LightSpeed is helping ensure that even more of Norfolk can be at the forefront of digital change.”
Our Chief Operating Officer, Dave Axam, commented: “As a regional provider, we want to get involved with the local communities in the towns we are working in. It was great to meet Cllr Tom Fitzpatrick and Steve Cunningham in Fakenham recently and to demonstrate the ‘light speed’ progress of our full fibre network roll out across Norfolk and the East of England. We’re looking forward to our first customers in Norfolk being able to connect and experience gigabit internet speeds very soon!”
