Our full fibre broadband is coming to Witham, Braintree and Halstead!

We recently celebrated our full fibre broadband expansion into Essex with a visit to Witham and were joined by Braintree District Council’s Economic Development Officer, Louise Flavell, to see our fibre network build in action.

Visiting a build location outside Witham’s Maltings Academy, Louise Flavell saw first-hand how we lay our high-capacity fibre optic network and house our network equipment under the streets. By installing underground boxes instead of green street cabinets and re-using existing infrastructure wherever possible, we help to minimise the impact on the local environment.

Residents in Witham, Braintree and Halstead, as well as five other towns across Essex - Clacton-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea, Harwich, Maldon, Manningtree - will soon be able to connect to our gigabit broadband.

Commenting on our investment in these Braintree District towns, Councillor Tom Cunningham, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Braintree District Council, said: “We are pleased to be working closely with all our broadband providers in Braintree District and supporting the quality digital infrastructure rollout. Ultrafast broadband will help to drive businesses forward and bolster our local economy while also improving digital services for our residents.”

Dave Axam, our Chief Operating Officer, added: “It was great to meet Louise Flavell in Witham recently to demonstrate the ‘light speed’ progress of our full fibre network roll out across Essex and the East of England. Residents in Essex will be able to start connecting later this year and experience the difference gigabit broadband can make in their homes and businesses and as well as it unlocking the digital potential of the region.”
