All aboard the Spalding Water Taxi!
We’re delighted to be sponsoring Spalding Water Taxis this year as it reopens after a two-year break due to the pandemic.
Started in 2005, the Water Taxi is a leisurely way to cruise from the centre of Spalding to Springfields Retail Outlet, on the edge of town and next to our base at Fulney Hall.
As well as seeing the sights enroute to the shops and restaurants at Springfields, visitors can also catch a ride to our newly opened LightSpeed Lounge, at Fulney Hall! We’ve created the lounge for our customers to try out gigabit speeds with the latest tech devices and experience ‘Life at LightSpeed’ themselves.
Anthony Grunwell, Spalding Water Taxi Operations Manager, commented: “I am thrilled to have LightSpeed on board supporting the Water Taxi along with other companies and South Holland District Council. This is very much a facility for the community, both local and wider, and the support of local companies really shows the spirt of the venture.”
Carmé Mandzij, our Sales and Community Engagement Lead, said: “It’s been a pleasure to visit Spalding Water Taxi, meet Anthony and to see our branding on the boats! It’s such a unique and great service for Spalding, one which we’re delighted to support. Residents in Spalding can now connect to our 1 gigabit full fibre broadband network, and as we continue to build across the East of England, we’re keen to work together and get involved with the local communities to make a real difference to residents.”
The Water Taxi will be running every day 10am – 5pm throughout the Summer and the journey takes about 40 minutes from Spalding centre to Springfields Retail Outlet.
