What we need you to do:

Lightspeed Broadband are looking for a strong and determined Build Manager with strong experience of telecoms rollouts to join a leading fibre-to-the-premises, open access broadband provider. You will be a proven Build Manager that has the ability to own and build FTTP Programmes, meet challenging targets and achieve set business KPI’s to enable delivery of homes passed, RFS and projects contained within operations.

 What We Need From You:

In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience.

· Meeting with stakeholders to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs.

· Developing detailed project plans to guide internal stakeholders, staff members and project teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements.

· Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of staff members.

· Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery.

· Compiling and submitting project status reports to stakeholders and management.

· Working efgectively with relevant senior management for efficient project implementation.

· Developing excellent leadership, staff relations andcommunication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.

· Manage technical projects from initiation to completion

· Develop and implement strategies for successful project delivery.

· Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and budget.

· Day to day supervision and compliance of the project, ensuring that KPI’s such as Time, Cost, Quality and Compliance are being controlled and achieved

· Management of multiple work streams/methodology for deploying FTTP

· Ensure timely delivery and mitigate/highlight any risks to budgets and programme change

· Responsibility for the Civil and PIA construction being carried out by our contractors

· Monitor, report and escalate issues within the project

· Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses and quality failures (including Defects) are logged via site audits, collated and reported to the relevant department

· Provide accurate weekly reporting on build progress, risks encountered and/or forecasted

· Manage the operational relationship with numerous stakeholders

· Ensure all completion documentation and as-built information is audited post hand over from the contractor within the agreed SLA and it is checked for accuracy, reporting any discrepancies, Defects and changes via a detailed sign off log to the Head of Build.

· Overseeing the deployment resource levels to ensure correct to meet KPI’s and delivery dates

· Responsible for the life cycle of A55 process, acceptance and completion including approving of costs

· Responsible for the P&L Capex of a city deployment as per deliverables against the business plan

Experience:

· At least 5 years’ experience in an infrastructure sector e.g. construction, telecoms, and engineering

· Strong experience of commercial, contract, build and project management;

· Experience and sound understanding of:

· Design, engineering assurance and construction;

· Cost and commercial management;

· Risk management;

· Information management.

· Demonstrable experience successfully managing significant projects / programmes;

· Track record of managing projects through the full project lifecycle;

· Experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting funding and operational targets;

· Experience of dealing with projects that impact on the general public and other stakeholders;

· Experience of compiling clear and concise technical and non-technical reports;

· Strong evidence of people management skills;

· Skilled in using industry standard project management tools and technology.

· You will have experience managing supply partners, board approved budgets, construction, and fibre networks.

· Proven track record in delivering and policing medium to large multi-site FTTH projects

· Experience on FTTH Civils and Cabling

· Experience in PIA and overhead Cabling/Poling

· A strong technical understanding of telecoms fibre optic networks (Overhead, Underground, Blown Fibre)

· Understanding and holding of the New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991(NRSWA) (Supervisors)

· Ability to demonstrate experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations

· Strong leadership skills and ability to set good example to others

· Excellent communication skills and ability to engage/communicate to senior management, clients and stakeholders.
