How we connect your home to our network

We bring our full fibre LightSpeed network to each street in our build plan, so that we can bring our ultrafast broadband connection directly into the homes and businesses there, while ensuring that we also deliver an enjoyable customer experience to go with it.

Once you’ve placed your order for LightSpeed you can then book your home setup appointment online and pay the one-off fee.

What happens on home setup day?
On your home setup day, we'll send one of our expert engineers to set everything up for you. They'll contact you before your appointment to let you know exactly when they expect to arrive and they'll bring everything with them (including your LightSpeed Hub and any beacons you've ordered).

Once they're with you, they will connect your home to our brilliant full fibre network, test that everything is working as it should be and even connect one of your devices for you. They will explain absolutely everything you need to know on the day.

Take a look at our day of install video:

How long will my home setup take?
Appointment times vary depending on the connection method (we use different methods on different streets), but we’ll do our best to get everything done in under two hours.

Do I need to be present for home setup?
We will need an adult present for your home setup. If you won’t be home, you can give permission for another adult to be there on your behalf. They need to be over-18 and at home for the entire appointment.

Will it be noisy?
For most customers who are being set up by overhead connection or where there is an existing underground connection, there will be a bit of drilling, but this won’t take long.

Will my home be left tidy?
Of course! Your engineer will tidy up after themselves and leave your home exactly as they found it (just with some shiny new LightSpeed equipment).

Can I choose a different connection method?
Your connection method is based on the network infrastructure available in your street. In some areas, we connect homes via overhead cables. In other areas, the cables are underground. The setup fee is the same for all methods.
