LightSpeed comes together for “Brew Monday”

At LightSpeed, we understand the importance of staying connected and caring for our mental health. We were inspired by the Samaritans' "Brew Monday" initiative to come together as a company on the third Monday in January, also known as "Blue Monday."

For those who may not be familiar, "Blue Monday" is often referred to as the "most difficult day of the year," but this is a myth. Samaritans know that there's no such thing as a day that is inherently "blue," and that every day can be different for each person. Instead of buying into this myth, they encourage people to reach out and connect with others over a cup of tea or coffee.

With this in mind, we decided to hold our own "Brew Monday" catch-up where we invited all of our employees to grab a brew and join us for a virtual catch-up on Microsoft Teams. We also had biscuits available in our locations (Fulney Hall, Lynch Wood, Stamford and Witham) for those who wanted to catch up in person.

To make the experience even sweeter, we sent everyone a £5 Costa voucher to enjoy a brew with a catch-up, on us. We believe that a cuppa and a catch-up can make all the difference, no matter what day it is.

We believe it's important to break the myth of "Blue Monday" and instead focus on the positive impact that connecting with others can have on our mental health. We also believe that it's okay to not be okay and that there's lots of help and support available to you.

We want to thank Samaritans for their "Brew Monday" initiative and for encouraging people to connect and take care of their mental health. LightSpeed is committed to promoting a healthy and supportive work environment. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to come together as a company and support each other on "Brew Monday."
